 Project “Bagpipe Music Week in Belarus”: July 2011- January 2012

Support: Javar Ethno-Historical Center, the Program of Small Grants (Embassy of the United States )

 

Foreseen and actually carried out activities during the reporting period:

- three ethnographic expeditions;

- regional concerts in Homiel, Brest, Viciebsk, Hrodna, Rakau and 2 concert in Minsk;

- the International Bagpipe Conference;

- master classes to teach to play the bagpipe;

- to publish a book teaching how to play the Belarusan bagpipe;

- to issue a CD with records of bagpipe music;

- to print an almanac dedicated to the bagpipe tradition in Belarus;

- to create the Internet portal:

- the travelling exhibition “History of the bagpipe tradition in Belarus” in Minsk and the regional cities (Minsk, Braslau, Brest, Viciebsk, Hrodna, Mahileu).
